A little bit about Country Guesthouse Schönegg...

Schönegg, pronounced Sherneck (Swiss-German for pretty corner), is an anomaly. This Murrumbateman masterpiece is a purpose built contemporary B&B that promises country tranquillity, culinary bliss and modern elegance. They also offer a number of dining options from platters served in your room, the guest lounge, dining room or al fresco on the dining room terrace - all accompanied by locally selected wines.

To unravel this mystery is to meet passionate owners Richard and Evelyn Everson. Evelyn completed her housekeeping apprenticeship in Germany and spent years working in five-star hotels across Europe while Richard, a Canberra lad, completed his cookery apprenticeship at the Canberra International Hotel before heading to Switzerland to complete a Hotel Management Diploma.

The two met in Europe and worked together on the QEII and later at the Metropole Interlaken in Switzerland before exchanging rings and settling in Canberra during the mid 90’s.
